Megan Lazarus The Perfect Storm
Author: Sebastian Junger

Description: The book is about sword fishing on the grand banks. What happened was a perfect storm. A perfect storm is when a cold front and a hurricane collide to make one big storm. The Andreagaile and its 6 man crew died heading to shore.

Quote: there was not a quote.

Reflect: To reflect I would give this book a 10. It is a really good book I think because I love to fish but to others they may not like it.

Suggestions for prop: To have someone sword fishing.

Matthew Hulbert Author: Conor Kostick
Epic
Description: This book is about a planet where there is no violence and decisions are made by fighting other players in the game Epic. Central Allocations are the most powerful players in the game and in the real world. Some people challenge Central Allocations to get supplies for their community but no one ever wins.
Quote: “Did you ever daydream about dueling Central Allocations and winning” “Always”
Reflective Piece: I’d rate this book a ten because there were a lot of very vivid words and cliff hangers that actually brought me into the book. I chose the quote because the point of the book is to beat Central Allocations.

Ezra Kelly Title: Zoobreak
Author: Gordon Korman
Genre: Realistic fiction

Summery:
Savannah has a monkey named Cleo who has been stolen! Now it is Griffin and his friend’s mission to return Cleo to his rightful owner. So they make up a plan called “Zoobreak,” which is where they break into the zoo and get Cleo back.

“The man with the plan.” The “Man” is Griffin. And he always has a good plan. Pg. #229

I think that this book is awesome, because it has two high action packed and exciting scenes. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate this book an 8, because it is the same as the first book, Swindle.

Vanessa Foulke Title: The Graveyard Book Author: Neil Gaiman Genre: Fiction

Description: The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman is a very interesting book about a boy named Nobody Owens [Bod for short] who is raised in a graveyard because his family was murdered by a man named Jack. As time goes on, Jack is still on a hunt to find and kill Bod. Bod’s new guardian, Silas, forbids him from going outside of the graveyard and into the dangerous world, except when he goes to school [which doesn’t last long]. However, at his home in the graveyard, he has freedom, so he can fade and slip through walls. Later in the story, these abilities can help to save his life.
Quote: ‘Potential, once your dead it’s gone. Over. You’ve made what you’ve made, dreamed your dream, written your name.’ pg.179 I think this is a very meaningful quote because it is true.
Reflective piece: I liked this book because the author uses a lot of describing words to describe the eerie scenes of the graveyard. If I were to rate this book on a scale from 1-10, I would rate it a 9 because there is not a lot of suspense.
Suggestions for prop: I would do a diorama or acrostic poem of the graveyard.
